“Weigh-In” Execution – How to submit a fish for award consideration

The 2023 tournament is a release tournament. Fish being entered for award consideration require submission by email to WIN@mrmtc.com of a completed weigh slip listing “release”, the fish length measurement, and a video (pictures) of the fish length measurement.                        All fish must be measured on an Official MRMTC Ruler, provided at Captains meeting, or can be picked up at Deep Creek Marina office.

1.     The requirements for determining a fish’s length are as follows:

a. Determine striped bass length per the method specified in the following  link: https://www.fishinjersey.com/how-to-measure-gamefish/ :                  b. Lay fish on top of or alongside a measuring rule, not measured over the body. Fish are measured from the tip of the snout (mouth closed) to the            longest part of the pinched tail, to give maximum length.

c. Take video of the fish as follows:  Take a video of the overall fish while being measured.  The video must clearly show the snout (mouth closed) at          the “zero” end of ruler and the tail end of the fish as the length is being determined.

A video is the preferred method to document the fish length.  If video is not available submit pictures that show the overall fish on the ruler and clearly show the snout (mouth closed)  at the “zero” end of ruler and the tail end of the fish as the length is being determined.  Videos (pictures) submitted must be clear, and the ruler legible in the picture.

The Club Tournament committee reserves the right to disqualify any video (picture) submission that does not adhere to the measurement/documentation rules.

2.     Complete an MRMTC Official Weigh Slip clearly denoting the length of each fish.  Up to six fish may be listed on one weigh slip.

3.     Take a picture of the completed MRMTC Official Weigh Slip.

4.     Electronically submit the Weigh slip and fish video (pictures) for each fish up to 6 fish per entrant. via email to WIN@mrmtc.com.

5.     The deadline for submitting weigh slips for awards consideration is 6:00 PM on the declared fishing day.
