The 3rd annual MONGO Offshore Challenge has officially ended. After 153 days of fishing In 2 divisions by 214 teams, approx 3200 anglers fished over 4400 trips . All trying to catch the largest Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna , Wahoo, and Mahi of the season in their division. These winners will receive the prestigious MONGO trophy along with their share of over 500k in cash.
Team “ROSHAMBO” 65’ Guthrie out of MD weighed in the winning 393.8 lb Swordfish setting a New Maryland state record on a fun fishing trip. They weighed in at Ocean City Fishing Center in September.
Team “LA POSADA” 47’ Buddy Davis out of Pensacola Fl, weighed in a 45.6lb Mahi caught while fun fishing in May weighed in at Outcast Tackle and marine in Pensacola.

Team “WIDESPREAD” 51’ Custom out of NC, 63rd annual Big Rock winners- weighed in a 41.8lb Mahi at Organ inlet fishing center caught in early May.

Team “INTENSE” 44’ Contender CC out of Mobile Al, weighed in 93.5 lb Wahoo caught during the September King Masters tournament in Biloxi Ms, making this the second year in a row that this team won both the MONGO and the King Masters wahoo category with the same fish.

Team “CAJUN MADE” 41’ Bahama CC out of Fouchon La, weighed in a 217.2 lb Yellowfin tuna caught in August. They weighed in at Bridge side Marina in Grand isle, La.

Team “DOUBLE NICKEL” 40’ Fincat CC out of Sarasota Fl, weighed in a 260.5 lb Swordfish in September fun fishing. They weighed the fish at Marina Jacks in Sarasota.

-Team “RISING SONS” 58’ Viking out of Orange Beach, Al weighed in a 785lb Blue Marlin during the Mobile Big Game Clubs Labor Day tourney in September winning them 2 tournaments with one fish.

Congrats to team “ROSHAMBO” 🙌They took the lead by weighing in this awesome Maryland State Record breaking 393.8 lb swordfish last night at Ocean City Fishing Center. The fish measured 101” and shattered the old Maryland State record by 75lbs.💪 Other MONGO teams have until Sept 30 to try and take the lead. 🤙

Hello, just a reminder the East Division MONGO Offshore Challenge registration closes midnight June 30. You can add other categories or optionals until then. Team “WIDESPREAD” is still in the lead in the MAHI category with their 41.8 lb Mahi caught on MAY 7. All other categories are wide open!
