Tournament Rules

  • Captain’s Meeting: January 27th, 2022, at the Jupiter Beach Resort and Spa, 5 Hwy A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477 (Registration/Calcutta / Entry 6 to 9 pm)
  • Awards Dinner: January 30th, 2022 Jupiter Beach Resort and Spa,5 N Hwy A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477. Dinner and open bar will be from 7 to 9 pm.
  • Fishing Days: January 28th, 29th & 30th, 2022. Teams must fish a total of 2 of the 3 days to qualify, lines in, to lines out.
  • Boats can not leave any of the inlets before 6:30 am
  • Fishing Hours: Lines in at 8:00 am. Lines out 3:30 pm
  • Boundaries: From 27.30.00 to 26.30.00 latitude and no further offshore than 079.40 longitudes.
  • BOATS MUST LEAVE and RETURN FROM JUPITER, STUART, OR PALM BEACH!
  • All teams are required to notify the Tournament Committee that they intend to fish each morning and which type of bait they plan to use before setting lines.
  • Boats must fish 2 full days for the tournament to be official.


  • Fishing Regulations
    •  IGFA 20lb Line Class rules in play - leader length, double line length, etc. 20lb or lighter mono/backing permitted as per IGFA rules.
    • No more than six lines in the water at any given time!
    • The length of your leader may not exceed 15 feet, and The combined length of the double line and leader may not exceed 20 feet overall.
    • Live bait or Dead bait can be used, but only one type of bait is permitted in the water at any given time. If a boat would like to make a switch on which type of bait they are using, they must declare over the radio they are 
    • Making a switch and allowing a 10-minute delay before resetting lines.
    • Chumming of any kind is prohibited.
    • Live Baiting: No more than two kites may be used at any point. Artificial or dead bait dredges or surface teasers are permitted. 
    • Trolling: No more than two dredges may be used. No more than two artificial or dead bait surface teasers may be used (artificial or natural chains)
    • Passing the rod IMMEDIATELY after hookup (hook and hand) is permitted to a registered angler only once per fish but pass must occur immediately after the hookup!


  • Catch Verification
  • We will be using video verification to verify all releases.
  • All teams will be asked to supply an sd card at the end of each day.
  • Every boat must supply its release footage at the end of each fishing day upon check-in. Release videos are required for your fish to count. SD cards must be dropped off by 6 pm at one of the three inlets, The Jib Club, Fish Heads, Sailfish Marina. SD CARDS ARE REQUIRED! 
  • The video must show the color card of the day as well as the leader being touched or the leader being wound in the tip.
  • Any questions or concerns regarding fish verification will be up to the Tournament Committee to determine the outcome. A polygraph will be administered to the winning team in the event there is a discrepancy with a protest.
  • Our radio channel for the tournament will be channel 74, all fish need to be called in either over the radio or by cell phone. The phone number to call is (561) 665-1613. The release time, fish number, and angler’s full name must be entered for each release on the boat’s catch log and signed by the captain.
  • All hookups within 15 minutes of lines out must be called in.
  • Meat fish weigh-in will be located at the JIB Club in Jupiter from 3:30 to 5:30. All Meat fish must come by boat.


  • Point Structure & Scoring 
  • Release points will be awarded as follows:
  • 100 points for Sailfish on live bait.
  • 200 points for Sailfish on dead bait.
  • 300 points for a White Marlin on either bait.
  • 500 points for a Blue Marlin on either bait.
  • Protests must be submitted to the Tournament Committee in writing accompanied by a nonrefundable $750 filing fee no later than 5:30 pm on the fishing day in question. In all cases, the decision of the Tournament Committee is final.
  • Boats and anglers must comply with all state and federal fishing regulations and licensing requirements, failure to do so may result in disqualification.
  • All boats must carry appropriate liability insurance.
  • All boats must be a minimum of 25 feet LOA. The final determination of a boat’s eligibility will be at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
  • There will be no refunds of entry fees. We will refund your Calcutta entry minus the tournament service fee.

Safe boating practices are expected throughout the entire tournament. Determination to fish is at the sole discretion of the captain and crew!
