Capt. Geno Sauers and Trash Man, a 64' Weaver owned by Ben Wall, are the winners of the 35th South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series with 8 blue marlin releases and 11 sailfish releases!!!!

Congratulations to Geno, Ben, Kyle, Joe, Chris, Brian and to everyone else on this top tier sport fishing team! What a stellar season!

All of us at the Gov Cup look forward to celebrating with the Trash Man team and our other winners at the Awards Reception later this month.

A total of 69 blue marlin, three white marlin, one spearfish, and 213 sailfish were released over the course of four tournament legs: the Bohicket Marina Invitational Billfish Tournament, the 55th Annual Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament, the Carolina Billfish Classic, and the Edisto Invitational Billfish Tournament. Thank you for yet another exceptional year of sport fishing here in South Carolina!

Based on unofficial reports from the water, the 38 crews released 4 blue marlin and 107 sailfish in 3 days of fishing. Tournament results will remain unofficial until staff are able to verify billfish releases.

The unofficial Series champion will also be announced once staff have had the opportunity to review today's catch.

Come on down to the marina from 5-7 PM for meatfish (dolphin, wahoo, and tuna) weight-in and to welcome the fleet back to Edisto Beach!
