CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS!
The 3rd annual MONGO Offshore Challenge has officially ended. After 153 days of fishing In 2 divisions by 214 teams, with approx 3200 anglers fished over 4400 trips . All trying to catch the largest Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna , Wahoo, and Mahi of the season in their division. These winners will receive the prestigious MONGO trophy along with their share of over 500k in cash.

Team “WIDESPREAD” 51’ Custom out of NC, 63rd annual Big Rock winners- weighed in a 41.8lb Mahi at Organ inlet fishing center caught in early May.

Team “SCUP SLAYER” 72’ Viking out of MA weighed in a 204 lb Bigeye caught during the Oaks Bluff Bluewater Classic tourney in July.

Team “ROSHAMBO” 65’ Guthrie out of MD weighed in the winning 393.8 lb Swordfish setting a New Maryland state record on a fun fishing trip. They weighed in at Ocean City Fishing Center in September.

Team “LA POSADA” 47’ Buddy Davis out of Pensacola Fl, weighed in a 45.6lb Mahi caught while fun fishing in May weighed in at Outcast Tackle and marine in Pensacola.

Team “INTENSE” 44’ Contender CC out of Mobile Al, weighed in 93.5 lb Wahoo caught during the September King Masters tournament in Biloxi Ms, making this the second year in a row that this team won both the MONGO and the King Masters wahoo category with the same fish.

Team “CAJUN MADE” 41’ Bahama CC out of Fouchon La, weighed in a 217.2 lb Yellowfin tuna caught in August. They weighed in at Bridge side Marina in Grand isle, La.

Team “DOUBLE NICKEL” 40’ Fincat CC out of Sarasota Fl, weighed in a 260.5 lb Swordfish in September fun fishing. They weighed the fish at Marina Jacks in Sarasota.

NEW WAHOO LEADER!
Team “INTENSE” took the Lead today in the Gulf division by weighing in a 93.5 lb Wahoo in the King Master tourney in Biloxi Ms. Team Double J has been leading the MONGO since June with a impressive 92.3 lb fish. Teams have until Sept 30 to try and take the lead🤙

NEW SWORDFISH LEADER
CONGRATS to Team “DOUBLE NICKEL” for weighing in a 260.5 lb sword today in Sarasota. The fish was 82” long and was their second fish over 240lbs in the last week 💪. Lots of nice swords have been weighed recently in the Gulf, and still 2 weeks to go in the MONGO season. STAY TUNED to see if there will be anymore leaderboard changes 🤙

NEW MARLIN LEADER!
Congratulations team “RISING SONS” y’all are now the ones to beat! They weighed this fish today during the Mobile Big game clubs Labor tourney the fish weighed 785 lbs and beat out team “IT JUST TAKES TIME” and their fish from June caught during the Biloxi Gulf Coast Blue Marlin Classic 763lbs. Teams have until Sept 30 to fish. Stay tuned to see if there will be any other late season Leaderboard changes 🤙

New GULF Tuna Leader !
Congrats team “CAJUN MADE” on their 217.2 lb yellowfin caught offshore Louisiana 8/19/22. That’s good for over 70k in cash💰and the MONGO trophy 🏆 if they can hold onto the lead through SEPT 30.
Team “REEL FIRE “ is still leading the “MONGO TUNA OPTIONAL POT” with a 170.8 lb fish.
All of the other MONGO categories are holding steady and although some close contenders weighed in, the leaderboard has not changed since June.
There is about 40 days left to change up the leaderboard. Good luck 🤙

The leaders are getting comfortable!
The Gulf leader board has been holding steady over the last month, with some impressive fish weighed in to date. There are a lot of stories of some bigger fish lost. It only takes one bite to change things up, and a lot of Time left in the MONGO. Good luck to all who are fishing this weekend! Y’all go HANG one up 🎣🤙.
