The InTheBite Champion's Cup has its first qualifying blue marlin! Capt. Shane O'Brien and the 68' Blackwell "Wild Hooker" team weighed a 432.5-pound blue at the 2021 Kona Kickoff. This was the second largest blue weighed at the tournament giving the team 300 Champion's Cup points and putting the team in first place for Largest Hawaii Blue Marlin as well as Overall Blue Marlin within all the divisions. The World Cup Blue Marlin Championship is right around the corner (July 4) so register your team today before another blue is boated. Awesome job "Wild Hooker" and good luck to the teams in the upcoming tournaments.

Hi everyone, I just returned from a short two day visit to Marsh Harbour and I'm happy to report Abaco Beach Resort looks great, especially with the fleet of sport boats docked in the marina. It was also nice to see everyone gearing up for the Production vs. Custom Shootout. We added a few more quality boats to our growing list of Champion's Cup teams—Wave Paver, Turn It Blue, Grander, Viking Demo and Gulf Bender. A few other teams said they will be signing up once they start fishing the East Coast Division. Our Largest Blue purse is close to $30k and we are trying to reach our first year goal of $50k (10 more boats). We'll have an update on the "Division Purses" soon. We've received some great positivity from everyone regarding the Cup and we're happy to explain any and all aspects of the tournament so everyone knows exactly how it works. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Again, thanks to everyone who took the time to meet with me. With the third leg of the “Quest for the Crest” Sailfish Series wrapped up, the Bar South team is at a total of 11 points for live bait releases within the Florida Division. Lunatico2 is following behind them with a close 7 points. Bar South was also crowned the 2020 Crest for the Crest Champions this past weekend. The White Marlin Roundup is next.

Champions Cup International Division Update: Team Uno Mas reeled in the first place spot at Leg 2 ,Feb 24-27, 2021, of the Signature Triple Crown Billfish tournament in Costa Rica with 4800 points, which included 33 sails and 3 marlin. Congratulations to Uno Mas team on earning 500 points and taking the points lead in the Division. Fish Tank has 400 points and is sitting pretty going into the final leg 3 - March 17-20, 2021. The Triple Crown Series winner will also receive 250 "Championship Points" which could make a difference this early in the year.

Congratulations to BAR South and their six sail releases during Leg 2 of the "Quest for the Crest" Sailfish Challenge. This puts them at the top for live bait releases within the Florida Division. Another congrats to BAR South's Rudy Espinosa who received the top male angler rank with five points. BAR South placed sixth overall during the tournament with seven releases. LUNATICO2, also competing in the tournament, had a total of three releases. Keep up the good work teams! On to the next tournament, which will be Leg 2 of the Los Suenos Signature Billfish Series starting February 24, followed by The Masters Angling Tournament on February 28. Jimmy Johnson's Quest for the Ring kicks off March 2. Let's go!

An awesome job to all the teams at Leg 1 of the 2021 Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown. First place went to Grand Slam with 49 sails and two marlin. Champion's Cup team Fish Tank followed in second with 22 sails and six marlin adding 300 points to their International Division score. And Sea Fix came in third place with 27 sails and four marlin. Way to go teams!

Congrats to team Fish Tank aboard their Hatteras GT65 for taking third place and scoring 100 points in the International Division at the recently completed Rock Star Tournament, held Jan. 14-17 at Marina Pez Vela. This kicked off the 2021 Champion’s Cup International Division. Next up is Leg 1 of the Los Sueños Signature Series, with three consecutive fishing days starting Thursday. In the Florida Division, the Buccaneer Cup is our fifth sanctioned tournament of the year, taking place Jan. 20-23 out of Palm Beach. In this prestigious event teams can earn Champion's Cup points in live or dead bait categories. Make sure you're registered prior to the start of any sanctioned event in order to accrue points. January 8, 2021 We have 2 events underway in the Florida Division- the Pelican Yacht Club in Ft. Pierce and the Silver Sailfish Derby in Palm Beach. Tony Huerta's Lo Que Sea released 3 sailfish on dead bait during the Pelican day 2 to lead the division. We will be confirming daily scores at the completion of each tournament. Be sure to register soon.
