It’s Official! Team “Fleur De Lis” Angler Ginger Myers with Captain Scooter Porto weighed in their New Alabama state record 851.9lb Blue Marlin on July 5th at Orange Beach Alabama, one of the Gulf of Mexico participating 2020 MONGO weigh stations. No other team out of the MONGO fleet could top it. The 153 day tourney was cut a little short (2weeks) in the Blue Marlin category due to a Rule put in place by NMFS starting Sept 30, which does not allow any more harvesting of blue Marlin white marlin or Spearfish to the rest of 2020.

MONGO Offshore Challenge Teams have 2 days left to Hang up A MONGO Blue, and try and beat the 851.9lb Leader for the almost 80k in Prize money, MONGO Trophy, and BRAGGING rights for catching the Largest MONGO Blue Marlin of the 2020 season🤙
Blue Marlin category ends @5:00 pm Central On September 29.
All other categories end October 15.

ATTENTION all 2020 MONGO Offshore Challenge Teams. The Blue Marlin Category will will officially end September 29th @ 5:00pm due to the latest NOAA Fisheries Bulletin announcing catch and release only starting Sept 30 through the end of the year for Atlantic Blue Marlin. So teams you have 9 days to try and top the leader “FLEUR DE LIS” 851.9lb Blue.
The other categories (Sword, Tuna, Mahi, Wahoo) end date will remain the same October 15th at 5pm Central. Good luck to all the teams , y’all get out there and Hang one up ! And Remember “ Let the small ones Go so they can GROW”🤙
